Trisha Burns' 8th grade class at Columbus Signature Academy Middle School worked together to provide Christmas presents for 40 foster children who could use a little extra cheer this holiday season.
The students held special events, including after school sucker sales and a "Crazy Hair Day," to raise funds for they project. Those funds were then used to purchase books for the children. Each present was carefully wrapped by the students, with special hand-written tags applied to each gift.
All 40 gifts were presented to Advocates for Children, who will distribute them to foster children presently being served by our Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteers and staff Guardian Ad Litem (GAL).
