Effectiveness of Advocates for Children
Research shows that children who have been assigned a CASA volunteer tend to spend less time within the foster care system than those who do not have an advocate. Judges have observed that children assigned advocates also have better chances of finding permanent homes than children without advocates.

Judges in Bartholomew, Decatur, Jackson, Jennings, and Shelby counties have implemented the Advocates for Children program in their courts and appoint CASA volunteers to cases of child abuse and neglect. The CASA model is endorsed by the American Bar Association, the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges, and the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention of the U.S. Department of Justice.
